Optional Parameters #

As stated in previous sections there are a number of different types of parameters that can be defined in the i2b2 Administration module. Depending where they are defined will determine how the i2b2 behaves. Here is a recap of the different types of parameters.

Type of Parameter	Description
Hive Parameters	Affects the entire *hive*. Is not specific to a cell, user or project.
Cell Parameters	Specific to the *cell* in which it is defined. Does not affect other cells in the hive. Is not specific to a user or project.
User Parameters	Specific to the *user* in which it is defined. Does not affect other users. Is not specific to any one project.
Project Parameters	Specific to the *project* in which it is defined. Does not affect other projects. Will affect all users who have access to the project.
Project User Parameters	Specific to the user *and* the project in which it is defined. Does not affect other users within the project. Does not affect other projects the user has access to.
